Hi Scott,

Nobody who professes to be adult will be "bummed out". Competition is
healthy; it seems that the IC-7800 goaded VS upper management into
allocating a budget for a new HF-transceiver development program. Doubtless,
being possessed of the same corporate survival instinct as Icom, they wish
to stay in the business.

It will also be very good for the industry, and for the customer's range of
choices, if  Kenwood stays in the running and launches a high-end
transceiver. They need a leading-edge 100% DSP-based exciter for that nice
TL-933 amplifier (actually an OEM JRC JRL-3000F).
