I choose to listen to a radio that is pleasing to the ear so it doesn't
wear on you.
I despise the all knobs cranked to the right sounding contest
audio.
For my liking I prefer a radio that is as close sounding as possible to
the original, though not into the Hi-Fi end of the world either.
If the audio is too pinched it makes you tire easy and is stressful to
listen to.
And if the receive is over processed with DSP etc, it also becomes
tiring to listen to as your brain knows it is not quite right and tries
to put it all together and make sense of it.
Kind of like sitting in fluorescent light or in incandescent light.
They both light the room but one is more comfortable and natural.
It is all in the matter of taste.
