Hi Hans,
Good to hear from you! I'm working in the San Jose, California area now =
so am away from home all week. I had to put troubleshooting my MkV =
aside until I returned home for the weekend. As you can see by the =
email I posted to the 1000MP reflector, I have it fixed now. It was a =
lot of work to get into that part of the rig and put it back together. =
It would be good if I could come up with some sort of protection scheme =
that would prevent that from happing again. If I do come up with =
something I'll post it on the reflector.
Hope to CU on the air again.

Hello Lou,
Very interesting and kind of you to inform us about this malfunction! =
It may
happen with other MkV's as well.
Good luck in finding and fixing it.
Looking forward to another CW QSO with you!

I did some troubleshooting. There is a T/R circuit at the antenna =
input to
the rig that employs three transistors, a pin diode switch, and a =
relay.
The relay isn't being activated. I can make the relay work by =
supplying 12V
to it and the rigs receives fine. The PNP transistor that operates =
the
relay is either blown or isn't getting the correct input to switch the
relay. I need to do some more signal tracing to see if I can figure =
out
what's going on.
