I sent my 1000MP (plain vanilla) with no audio back to Yaesu for repair. It
took a week for them to receive it by UPS ground. The following week I received
a postcard in the mail with the work order number and estimated turnaround
time of two weeks. A week and a half after it was received they called me and
said it was ready. I received it the following week.

It works better than ever and they replaced two parts (IC AN7709 and
Transistor 2SD2403GY-T1). Total cost for parts $6.15. One hour labor $70.00 and
Shipping $36.00.

I did notice the display was delayed in coming on when I first fired it up.
This has been an intermittent problem since 1998 when I purchased the radio. It
now comes on after a momentary delay. It has always seemed to me to be
dependent on the temperature of the room. In a cooler environment such as now with
the air conditioning running full blast and in the winter the delay is
prolonged. I did not mention the delayed display in my repair request.

I am very pleased with the service that I received.
