The W8JI mod (or INRAD) ... may NOT prove to be THE
solution, so what's the answer? ... also note that OTHER
rigs, as owners examine their signals, may also need work.

You seem stuck on the 'all MP rigs have the problem' and
that simply doing the INRAD or W8JI mod solves it. Sorry ...
what's being shared does NOT support that by looking at
the actual numbers being posted on here.

No one is against having clean CW signals ... but as
Tod noted ... there seems to be a wide range of just
what is considered to be 'clean'.

If a post were to say "I checked my rig, and it's +/- 800 Hz ...
you'd claim that's too wide/etc. Yet the rigs modified with the
W8JI mod are showing that as an AFTER reworking measurement
... now what does that owner do? He/she will still be haunted
by the 'click patrol', yet in good faith they did try something ...

Now you are suggesting anyone who does not do any mods
(regardless IF their rig shows clicks) is a bad op ... wonderful,
that will certainly encourage others to invest time/money on
mods that may or may NOT resolve the issue(s). The FCC
regs don't support any stated spec (and yes, I wish they
did, then we have a standard, and not mere ham opinions)

Talk about trying to hit a moving target ... <sigh>

73 Billy AA4NU ... who will now always be accused of
having clicks no doubt ... despite what
I choose to or not do to my gear here.
