"But if you're trying to sustain a high run rate on CW, it is awfully
easy to get the receive VFO so far off center in one direction that you
miss the caller on the other side of zero beat (I use 400 Hz filters
while running). That's why I rely on TR's RIT Clear function. An A=B
command in TR that matched A VFO's frequency to B's would work fine too,
if it existed, and then I'd certainly agree with you."

I find that if a station calls me off frequency, many subsequent QSOs on
that same frequency ensue. I assume that the subsequent callers have
heard me work the first one off frequency, so they zero him to call me.
If I did what you do, I might miss those additional callers.

The big VFO-A knob is rather easy to spin to hunt for others anyway, even
though I have my MP set for very slow tuning (0.625 kHz per turn of the
knob) to facilitate using my narrow filters (I have the 500, 250, and 125
Hz if filters and even use the 60 Hz DSP filter to bring out the weak
ones), all easily front-panel-selected on my MP -- the sub receiver can't
do that, either.
