I had exactly the same problem. Yaesu repaired it (it took 3 months).
Tell them to check the tuner: on mine eventhough the tuner said it was
tuning (and the meter gave me 1.2 to 1.4 of SWR) in reality it was not
( at least that is what the technician at Yaesu told me). It has been
working fine since its return from the hospital.
