[1000mp] Update

Well I can only hope. I took a look inside and the best I can determine is
the rig suffered from RF constipation. The rf/rx board under the final
section is toast right around the area of RL1016. looks like a hole was
almost burnt into thePCB, a couple of chip resistors vaporized, a diode is
charcoal. Near as I can figure the tuner must not have liked the g5rv, even
though it tuned to abt 1.2 to 1. The white noise must have been the rf
holding some relay closed or open that should have been the other way. The
burn area was pretty close to underneath the screw on the bottom of the TX
unit under the fins. Im not sure if there was anything coming right out of
the final unit or not. The radio functionwise other than receive seems to
be ok filters shift in and out etc.

Has anyone had any experience like this? Has anyone had a rf/rx unit board
replaced? what was the cost? How about the tuner? Again this is a MK V.
