[1000mp] Mark V "3 strikes you're out" policy

I've been monitoring the list for a while now, and have been increasingly bothered by the fact that if I wasn't on this list, I would have NO IDEA about these Mark V problems. This is EXACTLY the kind of thing I would expect to see reported in QST or taken up by the ARRL.

If Yaesu is having major problems with the Mark V's - which it is crystal clear they are - I for one would like to see QST research the problem and help Yaesu deal with it. I love my MP, my 847, and my 736. The last thing I'd like to see happen is for Yaesu corporate to get pissed off watching future sales walk away because of an obvious production problem - one that they can't seem to fix after numerous shots at it...

Take the Tylenol case and apply the thinking. Get the word out - recall the bad batch - get the replacement radios out there and get on with it. Whatever is wrong must not be simple to fix or they'd have it licked by now.

I could go on, but my point has been made. Any other points of view?

David, NA2AA
