[1000mp] CAT cables etc

Dear Duncan:
    With a MarkV, the idiosyncrasy seems to be that a female-to-female
cable is required.  Every other serial device connected to the computer
works with a male-female cable.  I have no idea why the serial port on
the radio is of a non standard gender.
    If you are using a "standard" M-F serial cable plus a "gender
changer," the problem could be in the changer.  Perhaps you need to
order a F-F cable.
