[1000mp] Compare FT990

Hi Brian:

I have both the FT990 and the FT1000MP (early version) working side by side .. I
really do not see much difference between the two except for the convenience of
the second receiver in DX pileups. I have had three FT990s in the past 8 years
and everyone worked fine (I have had stations in multiple places is the reason
for the 3 units).

The FT990 compared equal with an FT890 I had but the FT890 did not have the
convenience of the "any filter / any mode".

The FT990 / FT1000MP receivers have it hands down over the FT920 I use only for
RTTY and 50 MHZ and the FT847 I occasionally use on 50 MHZ.

In my opinion once you use and get used to dual receive you will never want to
be without it. If you do not use the dual receive there is not much, if any,
noticeable difference between the FT990 and the FT1000MP.
