Hello Brian,
I had the FT990 for nine years two. After that I sold him for the FT-1000MP,
which I kept for two years. Now I have the Mark V.
The menu is really a huge difference. Boy; what a new world with this menu!
I can spend hours with this menu and the manual to reach the optimum with
the Mark V.
Today I used the Class A function of the Mark V, in combination with the
TL-922 linear. And the dual receive, listening with both receivers on the
same frequency!
Excellent cascade filtering in the MP too. Especially with Inrad filters.
However the appearance of the 990 and 1000D is in my point of view
unbeatable. But this will be very personal.
Good luck with your comparison and 73!
Hans PA1HR.
