[1000mp] Compare FT990

Good morning!

I've had and enjoyed an FT990 for nine years now. I bought it because the
reviews of the time compared its receiver favorably to the 1000D and with a
JRC shortwave rig I didn't think I needed dual-receive.

Over the past couple of years I'm finding dual-receive would be pretty handy
and I've been pining for the MP-series radios. Trouble is, I just can't
bring myself to taking the plunge because the 990 still performs so well for
me.

Can anyone comment on the 990 and the MP's (V, Field, etc.) or -D pro and
con?
