[1000mp] 1000mp repair

Hello to all,
I have in my possession a 1000MP that I've been using from a local ham =
friend since last falls contest season.  The friend now wants to sell =
the radio and I have first refusal.  I've used the radio on SSB only and =
have made hundreds of contacts with no problems or complaints.  Here's =
my inquiry, My ham friends station took a lightning hit and as far as he =
is aware the only part of the radio that was affected was the CAT =
system.  I'm not presently CAT controlled but perhaps in the =
future....Anyone had repair to the CAT and if so how much can I expect =
to pay to get it in working order???? What company would you recommend =
for repair?   What are the possibilities of other componants in the =
radio having been damaged that I'm not aware of??  I've thought about =
sending it out for a general physical so to speak just to be on the safe =
side....selling for $900.00 ....
