I hesitate to say thing only because when it happened to me I could not believe it was so obvious -- but, do you have the monitor function engaged? Also, I find that the FT-1000MP (cannot speak for the Mark V) is extremely sensitive to ground on the chassis and any changes you might make in the shack with ground lines. Ground situations have cause me this same problem with feedback audio during transmit.
