I agree with Pete. A 1kw amp on a 110 line will sag it significantly, =
and leave no room for anything else. Fight the 220 line battle, you're =
going to need it, then you amp choices are wide open. I also suggest =
using a Radio Shack 12 volt reed relay to switch any amp, so the only =
load the MK IV's relay see is the little reed relay, and you isolate the =
transiever from and rf or emf coming back the ptt line from the amp.=20

I also agree with the suggestion of an amp running a pair of 3-500. =
Sb-220, lb-4, older Ameritron. My pick would be the older Ameritron =
because the power supply is twice the ones in the LB4 or SB220. A used =
Al-1200 or AL-1500 is also a nice choice, depending on your budget. The =
AL-1200 is instant-on, a nice thing to have.

I forget if you said cost was a factor. Commander makes a cadilac =
amplifier (no affiliation, yadda yadda)

I have a Commander that I use daily, and an AL-1200 that I can't bring =
myself to sell, because I like it so much. I paid $1k for it used.
