You know ...
I have owned 2 MPs here since late 1995, when they
were first introduced ... Many guest ops here, under many
callsigns resulting in many thousands of QSOs ... and to
date NOT ONE report of clicks ...
Other MP owners, including some on this list, have checked
their rigs with locals ... and found no issue as to 'clicks' ...
Like Tom R. , and others, if there are ways to improve things
then I am interested in doing so. The INRAD kits are here
on the shelf awaiting "the rest of the story" ... I really appreciate
Tom R's sharing of his experiences, especially that the locals
there had NOT complained of any clicks ... mnnn ...
If "MPs are the devil of CW", then someone please tell me
why in late 1995, early 1996 ... when the MP moved to the
desks of the top contest/DX stations ... where the heck was
all this bleating about 'clicks' ? <I've been on these Yaesu
lists since then, and until ONE ham started the "all rigs are
BAD", you didn't see any post, nor on CQ-Contest ... WHY?>
The 1000/D series, have been on the bands for even longer
periods of time ... and gasp ... NOW they click too ...
Let's see ... TenTecs have chirps, Icoms have spikes, and
Kenwoods have 'phase noise' ... Just recalling the various
"the RF world is ending" because of rig design problems
of the past few years ...
Happy New Year to all!
