I'm also considering an FTV-1000 at the new price and had the same concerns
regarding use of
the band data jack. After looking at the FTV-1000 connection diagram in my
Mark V manual, I
noticed that there are Band Data in and out jacks on the FTV-1000.
I've read some reviews about the FTV-1000 and if the information I read was
correct, you have
to be very careful about turning the IPO on, on the MP before transmitting
on the FTV-1000 or the
front end preamps may be blown . I'd like to hear more about this from
anyone using the FTV-1000.

Happy holidays to everyone!
