[1000mp] Using both an FTV-1000 and HF amp

Dear MPers,

I've been using my MkV with an HF amp and control the T/R switching with a couple of lines from the Band Data jack as
well as the having the ALC hooked up.  With the $350 coupon out on the FTV-1000 I've been considering getting one.  I
notice that it hooks up to the Band Data jack and ALC.  Seems the most straight forward way to deal with this it to
build a switch box to switch the Band Data lines and the ALC between the amp and FTV.  Does anybody know of a slicker
way of doing this?  Any general comments on the FTV-1000?
