[1000mp] FT-1000 MK-V Transverter Question

Friends,

I've fought interfacing my MK-V with some SSB 2/430/1296 transverters
for two days now. I wasn't able to get much drive out of the MK V. It's
spec'ed at -6 dbm (about .250 mw). Finally, I pulled out my HP 436 power
meter and measured it at the TRV port. All I got was continuous noise at
-41 dbm. When I key up the MK V, I got a little RF and the reading went
down to a -39 dbm. This didn't make much since the transverter output
port is almost the identical point where RF is fed to the final amp
stage and the radio works fine on the HF bands with full output. I
pulled the radio apart to see if I could find anything obvious on the RF
board where the TRV port attaches to the board but didn't find anything.
Incidentally, I got all the screws back in their proper place. (Two of
the screw holes are not visible).

Two questions (1) anyone got any ideas on what's going on with this
problem. (2) How's Yasue service department? I've yet to deal with them
but looks like I'm going to have that experience.
