[1000mp] RASCAL and 1000MP

Todd,
I saw the answer for the 1000MP MKV. If you have a plain 1000MP, there are user settings you can make to fool the packet mode into using USB (required for PSK31, MFSK, etc).

This is from an original message from Mark Erbaugh, N8ME on 4Apr01

The audio input on the Packet jack is only active in Packet mode. In RTTY
mode, the FT1000MP only works for FSK using the RTTY jack. If you want to do
AFSK RTTY you would need to use the Packet jack (or the microphone).

The Packet mode will work in either LSB or FM mode, but not USB. You can
however, create a USER mode that will work as a Pseudo USB packet mode (the
Mark V has an Easy-Set option for USB PSK31, but you can program the same
parameters manually on the original MP).

Here are the values for the EasySet modes on the Mark V (use a fixed pitch
font to make sense out of this):

Menu 8-6 EASY-SEt parameters

        | nodE | dSP-oFSt | r-PLL | r-cAr | t-PLL | t-cAr | rttY-Sft
--------+--------+----------+--------+---------+--------+---------+---------
SStv-L | PAc-Lo | 0.000 | -1.750 | 456.650 | -1.750 | 456.750 | 0.000
SStv-u | PAc-Lo | 0.000 | 1.750 | 453.250 | 1.750 | 453.250 | 0.000
--------+--------+----------+--------+---------+--------+---------+---------
FAcS-L | PAc-Lo | 0.000 | -1.900 | 456.900 | -1.900 | 456.900 | 0.000
FAcS-u | PAc-Lo | 0.000 | 1.900 | 453.100 | 1.900 | 453.100 | 0.000
--------+--------+----------+--------+---------+--------+---------+---------
PS31-l | PAc-Lo | -1.000 | -1.000 | 456.000 | -1.500 | 456.500 | 0.000
PS31-u | PAc-Lo | 1.000 | 1.000 | 454.000 | 1.500 | 453.500 | 0.000
--------+--------+----------+--------+---------+--------+---------+---------
PS31-SL | LSB | -1.000 | -1.450 | 456.450 | -1.500 | 456.500 | 0.000
PS31-Su | USB | 1.000 | 1.450 | 453.550 | 1.500 | 453.500 | 0.000

The PS31-L and PS31-U settings are LSB and USB using the Packet jack.
The PS31-SL and PS31-SU settings are LSB and USB using the microphone input.

73,
Mark
