[1000mp] Transverters and the MP

I have been following the 6 meter transverter thread with some interest. I 
was wondering if those of you using the DEM or SSB Electronics units have 
the luxury of dedicating an MP to IF use, or do you mess with the trap door 
transverter switch each time you need to go between HF and VHF/UHF? The 
idea of having to rip my radio out of the console each time I need to 
switch has kept me off 6 until I can afford another radio. Am I missing 
something?
