[Yaesu] Yaesu separation cable jack question

This is strange. I have Yaesu FT-857, serial # 0G220047. It is about to be
installed in my truck for the Texas QSO Party operation coming up September
23, 24. I have the separation kit. I just ohmed out the panel cable, 6 pin
RJ12 connectors. It is wired straight through, with no inversions.
I also have a box full of phone cables. All of them have only four wires.

I don't know about the FT891 but I do know the FT-857D front panel cables
are 6 wire telephone cables with one oddity. The connectors are installed on
the cable with one inverted, not straight through telephone standard. The
standard telephone cable won't work.

The cable with the connector on one end flipped works fine even if long
enough to control the rig in the car trunk.
