In the adjustment of parameters number 75 you can regulate the agreement
power
to the digital mode that you will use, in rtty and psk31 can use the 100watt
but
in jt65 you should not pass of 40watt for that the time of transmission is
of 50 seconds
continuous.
If you have some other doubt you ask me, I have a FT897 but with RF out
10watt because
the transistors rf power burned.

Look at the specifications for RTTY. Typically also continuous power for
minutes at a time. My 857D manua just says drive on RTTY to 16 ALC bit
displays on the screen, doesn't set a maximum power output. In the 857D
there is a digital transmit gain in the menu mode number 37. The 857D is
compact but the fan works a lot to keep it cool when transmitting.
