[Yaesu] VHF/UHF mobile FTM-100D : RS-232 computer-control protocol ?

I was thinking the same thing.  If the Yaesu XYZ-1234 doesn't do what you
want it to do, complaining about it on the reflector isn't going to change
it, and likely isn't going to influence Yaesu to change the XYZ-1234 to fit
your needs.

There are a number of radios out there that can be run on computer control.
It would be more productive to look for what you need.  If not Yaesu, then
Kenwood, Icom, Elecraft, or several of the Chinese start-ups.

I find this is an interesting discussion.  Several viewpoints are offered.
Here is my solution to this very serious problem.

If the rig being considered does not meet your needs with regard to features
and price, don't buy it.

Find one that does meet your needs.
