Considering the main intended purpose of the FTM-100 is mobile I can see why
they left it out. I haven't seen a mobile, and I mean a specifically made
for that use mobile I'm not including radios that could be used mobile that
are HF-UHF, that has CAT control yet. I don't think there is any demand for
such a use, I know I wouldn't have any reason to.

I have the FTM-100 and the FTM-400, the 100 is my mobile and the 400 I use
as a base. The serial port allows you to run packet, Wires-X or any other
audio interface, and of course gps receiver data output.

I would say your probably in the very small minority of people that would
want CAT on a dual band mobile, not that I totally disagree with you, but if
it meant increasing the price of the radio to add that feature I would vote
to leave it out as these radios already have a significant amount of stuff
built in!

Confirmed by Yaesu tech support : "The FTM-100DE does not have
computer-control facilities."

For me, this is really unbelievable for a TRX designed in Japan in 2015 !

Should ham operators continue using galena transceivers and vacuum tubes
in the era of IoT ? Yaesu Engineering, wake up !
