Friend of mine with an FT-847 the external speaker jack broke
internally. I think he tried to get one from Yaesu and they had none. I
found a Switchcraft that fit that location, but it was a simpler jack
and the flat solder tabs had to be bent to fit the board. I have more
confidence in the Switchcraft jack lasting a long time.
I see from the shop manual, that there is a Yaesu part number for the
assembly and for the jack. I've not traced the circuit connections, or
the dimensions, which I probably can't get from the shop manual, but
there might be such a jack with two switches from Switchcraft, via
Mouser or Digi-Key. All I found there was not printed circuit board
mounted to have the double throw independent switch. This part has a
double pole switch but uses only one pole of the switch.
A search on the part number S-G4617#02 turned up a Japanese data sheet
saying its by SMK (www.smk.co.jp) which has some in english, but they
don't admit that's a valid part number. Nor do the distributors for SMK
-America. It appears to be a quarter inch phone jack.
The search also showed the same part number in the FT-897 shop manual
which is currently in production so Yaesu ought to be able to supply the
part. Its used there on the Microphone unit. Yaesu part P1090697. If
they only want to supply the assembly the odds of them having the phone
jack assembly for the 847 is not as likely.

I have an FT-847 here that someone botched up badly repairing the power switch, they broke the end off the headphone jack, I assume they didn’t know they had to disassemble the front panel to remove the clip holding it in and instead forced it.
