[Yaesu] FT2000 DSP problem

Sarcastic?

Sorry you saw it that way. I truly do have the tube radios I listed, for
that very reason (photos on request). And with a tube bank of about 30k
tubes, they will be running long after I no longer care. It just might come
to - if it don't glow, it don't go.

With Iran to the east, N. Korea to the west, and the sun cruising
overhead.... who knows what comes this way.

I am not afraid to buy newer radios. But I also have older back-up rigs
just in case the 5000 takes a hit. One good CME and your 2000 might be
toast too, but the R-390A? Probably not. They are carefully put away
including shorting the antenna jacks, but can be ready in less than an hour.
And talk about repairable.... they are the ultimate of that, much like the
TVs of the 50s. Tubes and discreet passive components.

The bunker was a joke. But if I did have one, those radios would be down
there.

I don't know why my email prompted such a sarcastic response, but yes,
the old rigs are repairable. I like them for that reason. I can have
a QSO with them just as well as I can with a new plastic radio.
