[Yaesu] FT-101zd question

I have a Yaesu FT-101zd. I'd like to get it out of the case. Doing that is easier said than done.

1. First of all, where do you set it to do this? Could set it up on the feet on one side. Maybe logical?

Or, do you put big pillows down and stand it on it's face? I hate to do that, so hope the answer is put it on the feet side.

2. Second, there is a speaker on top left. Does this unhook? Are the leads long enough to go on out of the case?

I guess, if I have to, I can cut those leads, and put 'em back when it time to go back together.

3. I have no idea what it's for, but there's a small, micro switch on the bottom of my set. It was there when I bought it.

I have no idea if this has long leads or not. I may have to cut it, and put extensions on it, etc.

Would appreciate all help I can get on this one.
