I agree that the problem with the fast buttons not working is minor.  You 
might try to pick up and MD-1 type mic and I'll bet this will fix the 
problem.
Of course you can enter the frequency on the front key pad.  I do this to 
move several hundred khzs when switching bands.

Good luck with getting the FT-One in top working order.
