I was operating CW in the VHF contest last weekend.  The monitor audio was crackling and then quit.
When I switched to SSB mode a very LOCAL station didn't respond to my call.  Also, no indication of output (no ALC) on SSB.  I checked on 6 & 2 meters.  No SSB but both FM and CW output seem to be OK.   

Can anyone point me to the likely cause? My manual dexterity is not getting better so I'm hoping it doesn't require too much dis-assembly.  ALso,  I'd appreciate recommendations for repair sites for this unit.
