Hi Mike....
As a result of a Google search, I found the following article from QRZ
Forums. I think you'll find the battery info you need in the 2nd paragraph.
I hope this is the battery info you need.
Cheers....

A few months back I bought an FT-726R. I had fun with it for a while (this
was back during the VHF/UHF contest); it was working perfectly except the
lamp bulb for the meters was out, the memory backup battery was dead, and
some of the pots were scratchy.
Well, in the last couple months I've been working on it. It was equipped
with the 2M, 430, and "HF" modules. I had no need for the HF module so I
sold it, and used the money to buy the Piexx digital retrofit tone board for
it. I desoldered and replaced the CR-2025 backup battery; and replaced the
bulb for the meters. I also removed all the knobs and cleaned them, and
cleaned the pots with some contact cleaner (did not remove them to do that).
I tested the bulb, working fine, and the battery connections are good.
Put it all back together and turned it on. The display reads 0.000.00, and
it will only tune up to 9.000.0. Trying to TX, the display reads "E A", and
none of the mode buttons work. It is stuck on LSB. I can hear static through
the speaker, but tuning between 0 and 9 doesn't seem to change the static at
all. Pressing any of the other buttons or turning knobs does nothing.
I did some searching on the net and see that the modules need to be
connected using the bottom connections first (default module), then the
middle, then the top. Well, the 2M module is plugged into the default, then
the 430 is in the middle, so that's OK. I also saw that when changing the
modules you need to cycle the memory backup switch to do a reset. Tried that
with no luck. I even tried removing the Piexx board and plugging the
original back in, no change.
