[Yaesu] TR relay question

 I have two nice working FT1000Ds and love the radios. I have a 1993 factory 
unit with all filters. Occasionally when first turned on  the receive signal 
is way down and comes back immediately with just keying the mike. I have 
tried leaving the rig on different bands on turnoff and initially thought it 
was when I left the frequency on the 5 MC band, out of the normal band relay 
system. Now I find this will happen on any band, regardless of last band 
used.  This happens about one time in 6-7 on turning on the rig..
    Is this just a sticking relay or another keying system glitch?
I can't not understand when turning the radio off in the receive mode and 
then turning the radio on, that it is still not in the receive mode. Again, 
just a simple touch of the PTT on the mike, all is OK..  And, during 
operation all is perfect, no PTT or VOX miscues.
