I understand the latest ones are LiIon (which makes a lot of sense), but
NiMH WAS used for a while, and it is what GM used in their second batch of
EV-1 cars to replace standard lead-acid batteries, at least according to
KA9Q who had one, as well as the NiMH inventor.  I suspect the Lithium-based
batteries weren't available yet when GM stopped making electric-only cars.

I don't doubt that.  But I wonder when one person says NiMH requires fast
charging and NiCd can be slow charged, and another person says basically the
opposite.  I'm just making aware that what I'm seeing here is inconsistent,
and a lot of what I see on the 'net is anecdotal so it should not be taken
on face value.
