I agree totally. Most common insulation will not take high power RF levels.

However, I have used  a short piece of coax with success. Just trim the
length to neutralize the stage. RG-58 works nicely, and is easy to fit into
the space requirement. It has a capacitance of around 30pf per foot. The
insulation is rated at 1900 volts and it works fine in an RF environment.
