[Yaesu] should i buy a FT-1000MP

Hi Guys
 One of my local club members has a FT-1000MP for $900.oo, He is the original owner and has every thing that came with it. He has up graded to a TenTec and IC-746 Pro. 
I just got my General Lic Finally. I know that this was one of the best radios at one time, But it is 7 years old and i hear parts are hard to get. He bought it new in 2000.
I have a lot of old tube receivers and TS-530 Kenwood already.
But the thought of a nice radio really make your mouth water.
so what do you guy think.
PS. I know he take care of his radios, been to his shack
