Hello John,

Unfortunately I could'nt make any A/B-comparisons sofar between the
FT-2000 and my FT-1000D (with Inrad Roofing Filter, Inrad IF-filters and
W8JI mods).

What I believe is that there will not be a noticable difference in
receiver performance between those two rigs in the above mentioned setup.

Yes, the FT-2000 has more bells and whistles. For example the DMU-2000
with external monitor would be a very nice and usable add-on.

A few months ago I made an A/B-comparison between the Icom IC-7800 and
my IC-775DSP (with Inrad Roofing Filter). On different bands, modes and
conditions we could not notice any difference in receiver performance
between those two rigs!

For the time being I will keep my FT-1000D and IC-775DSP and read all
those reviews of the FT-2000 with great interest.

The only rig which IMHO could outperform my two rigs *may be* the
Hilberling PT-8000.
