Hi Bob,
What are the reference designator and location of the resistor in question?
Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ

Subject: [Yaesu] QUADRA-REPAIRED
FIRST of all, it is VERY LIKELY that your QUADRA is WORKING
NORMALLY!!---HOW?
Operator trouble! Flip the little SWITCH on the top rear center of the
R.F. deck, and see if your "ERROR" message goes away! (Excessive PA
Voltage) The resistor that failed often fails due to power interruptions
during operation, which causes rapid RE-START cycles, and overheats and
blows this "Start-up" resistor, which is not rated for MULTIPLE starts in
rapid sequence, or starting UNDER LOAD. (Mine also failed, due to problems
with a generator I was using to power the QUADRA. I fixed it, and added an
AC capacitor, so it will NOT happen again)-73, KC3VO-Bob Curry
