Hi Bert,
Message #1005 can result if the REMOTE switch on the rear panel of the
Quadra RF Unit is ON (up), and the amplifier is not connected to a Yaesu
exciter which supports remote power control.
If the #1005 occurred when no exciter was connected, try changing the switch
to OFF (down). If the #1005 still occurs, there is a problem in the PSU.
If you saw the #1005 with a compatible exciter (FT-1000MP, MkV etc.)
connected, there may be a fault in the exciter or the Band Data cable.
Again, try turning the REMOTE switch OFF (down).
I have an 8-year-old Quadra which has never missed a beat. The exciter is an
IC-756Pro3, so the REMOTE switch is down.
