I have a FT-767, and find that it is one of the FEW rigs with a decent
internal relay, and have used it successfully with my SB-220, a SB-230, an old
National NCL-2000, a Drake L4-B, and other amps, WITHOUT any intermediate
devices. The internal relay handles the voltage/current, be it A.C. or D.C., 12
volts or 200 volts, just fine! (Do NOT attempt this with an ICOM 735
however!)---I did, and the ICOM relay welded shorted! Although many newer radios will
fail in applications with older amplifiers, the FT-767 seems to do just fine.
