Actually, many contesters and DXers will find a carrying strap very 
desirable. Since the FT-2000 is aimed squarely at that market segment, 
I'd bet that many will find this an important feature. Of course, if 
you've never lugged a 40 pound radio to a Caribbean island or some rock 
in the Pacific, you might not appreciate how convenient a carrying 
handle can be and might be tempted to post some condescending remarks 
about it.
