You mention some great rigs.
Without question the FT840- is the best value for the
money. A GREAT little rig made with a REAL metal
case, memories. Really it has just about EVERYTHING
that you basically need for HF other than QSK for the CW ops.
As far as the more expensive rigs... I don't bother trying to even
touch an FT100 or FT9000 etc.
However, a friend had an FT920 - WOW what a GREAT radio!!
I used to LOVE the FT890s too. A beautifully crafted piece
of radio artistry!
I don't like the looks of all of the newer itty bitty radios.
FT857, FT897 etc.
They all look just too small, and there are way too many
hidden menus in most of these newer rigs.
