Subject: [Yaesu] FT-847 question
I've had in my possession two FT-847s in the last week. Both were
purchased used from a major ham radio dealer. The first I sent back
because it's cosmetic condition was misrepresented. Now the second is
DOA. The power on/off switch is defective. I will most likely be sending
it back. What I noticed on both radios is that the VFO knob does not
rotate concentrically. I attributed the first to shipping damage since
it wasn't packed well. The second was packed marginally better and it
did not have quite as much wobble. I was just wondering if this was
common with this radio? I'm thinking I better switch vendors and that it
is all in the poor packing of these two radios.
