I cannot advise you on the mechanical assembly of your radio. However, I
have given up replacing dial lamps long ago, instead I use colourless LEDs.

High brightness LEDs are available in all shapes, sizes and colours and you
will find a suitable replacement for your meter lamp. Measure the voltage,
calculate the correct resistor value and you will have replaced the lamp for
the last time. You should include a diode in series with the LED if the
lamp supply in your radio is AC.

Also, LEDs do not generate heat to turn plastic lenses and faceplates
yellow.

Subject: [Yaesu] FR101 S meter bulb replacement??

Can someone clue me in on the S meter bulb replacement on the old FR101
receiver?
I'd bet it is the same with the FT101.
Sure looks like I have to remove the meter and take it apart to change the
bulb!!
Could that be the case?
Thanks for any insite to this.
...Dave
