I don't think you'll be able to find any 220 all-mode for double the price
Yaesu quoted you to fix the 220 module for your 736. A nice one would
certainly be even more.
Instead of sending the rig to Yaesu to fix, why not try sending it to some
other competent, non-factory service center. I have a fellow in mind who
does very good work, for less than half the hourly rate that Yaesu charges.
I'd be happy to send you his phone number, if you're interested.
