[Yaesu] FT897 audio

Your antenna SWR is too high. This high SWR causes the radio to fold
back, and when it folds back it clips the audio. Usually the FT-897
does not fold back until the SWR is 1.5 or greater, but perhaps your
radio is a little more sensitive.

One theory concerning the clipped audio in the FT-897 is that the
reflected power gets back into the radio as RFI and distorts the audio
causing the clipping. But I have noticed that the clipping is always
associated with a high SWR.

The FT-897 is a great radio, it just does not tolerate SWR.
