[Yaesu] Pin Diode Replacement in FT1000

Does somebody out there have experience replacing Yaesu front end diodes with pin diodes to improve IMD? Which diodes were used? and where? and how did you measure your results? I have seen a lot of controversy about this. Yaesu issued a Tech bulletin for the 1000MP yet some argue it does nothing and is a waste of time and money. I have neither to waste.
