[Yaesu] FT-8500 will not power up

Greetings all,

 

I've been talking with a ham who just moved to this area from Arkansas, and
upon arrival he discovered that his FT-8500 will not power up.  I need to
get more info from him, but assume that it was packed/shipped by the movers
and has been out of service for a month or more.  

 

I've suggested that he try a processor reset, but has not found the manual
yet (among the boxes needing to be unpacked!).  What's the procedure for a
processor reset?

Also, is there an internal battery that might have died or been shaken
loose?  Any other thoughts?
