3. Fully agree!
The FT-847 is a very nice rig for VHF (especially for satellite), but
IMHO not a best choice for HF. The FT-920 and IC-746 are much better.
The FT-920 is a very good rig for HF and not a poor mans version of the
Mk-V. The design of the FT-920 is totally different!
Biggest bang for the buck would IMHO be the IC-746, FT-920 or the Field.
Forget the 847 for HF.
