[Yaesu] Part for FT-100

YAESU discontinued the RADIO, not the part! YAESU had to stop production
of the FT-100 because MOTOROLA stopped making the transistor! (It was NOT
Yaesu's desire that things happened this way, and there is NO equal replacement
for the part.) The closest alternate parts are intended for 24 to 28 volt
operation, and will give only 15 to 20 watts after careful circuit
modifications, on 13.8 volts. POLYFET transistor company has said they are working on a
similar device for 12 to 14 volt operation, but I have yet to see or obtain
one.
I believe the original device was made ESPECIALLY FOR the FT-100, by
MOTOROLA, and sold ONLY to YAESU, so it is VERY UNLIKELY that you will find a
substitute with EQUAL performance, unless POLYFET or another manufacturer decides
to create a similar device.
Sorry for the BAD news.------------73, and Happy Holidays!-Bob Curry, KC3VO
